Discipleship Bible Study

We’re excited to begin a new 5‑week Bible Study series as we explore together what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus. Each week we’ll open Scripture, share insights, and encourage one another as we grow in faith and practice.

The sessions will take place in the church vestry on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm starting on 17th September. Whether you’ve been part of Bible studies before or this is your very first time, you’ll find a welcoming space to ask questions, reflect, and journey deeper with others.Come along, bring your Bible, and join us as we learn, pray, and walk together in discipleship.

Garden Updates

A regular group of volunteers who meet on Friday mornings during term time have been working on clearing up our grounds and tidying our gardens. They are currently planting a lavender border to edge our grass and attract the bees as part of the steps we are taking to become an eco church.

Summer BBQ Fun

Building on the success of last year’s free community BBQ, we will be hosting another this year on 30th August. Join us for a burger or a sausage and a cuppa, browse our bric-a-brac and see if you can win big in our raffle 1 pm -3 pm.

Holiday Film ClubHoliday Film ClubHoliday Film Club

Thanks to some funding from our local councillor, we can show a film every week of the summer holidays at The Good Shepherd. Join us each Thursday of the school holidays at 2 pm for a family-friendly film. There will also be popcorn, drinks and snacks to share. A great free way to entertain the kids this holiday, or just to meet with others. Come along, all are welcome, but all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tour De Awesome

Simon completed a 167-mile cycle ride between the various Awesome Walls Climbing centres. His ride took him from Liverpool to Stoke, then to Sheffield, before finishing in Stockport. This one-day herculean effort raised nearly £2000 for the work of The Good Shepherd. Thanks go to his boss, Dave Douglas, who kept him going and carried all the spares in his van for the whole day and even brought him home as he finished.
