You Are Invited! Join Us for Our Summer Community BBQ
There is nothing quite like coming together as a community over good food and friendly conversation. We are excited to invite you, your family, and your neighbours to The Good Shepherd Community BBQ!
Whether you have been part of our community for years or have never stepped through our doors before, this event is for you. It is a simple, fun opportunity to connect, relax, and celebrate summer together.
What to Expect
We are firing up the grill and setting out tables for an afternoon filled with tasty food and great company. Here is a little of what we have planned for the Community BBQ:
- Delicious Food: We will have plenty of classic BBQ options on the grill, including vegetarian and vegan choices so everyone can enjoy a hot meal.
- Refreshing Drinks: Cold drinks for all ages, along with our usual tea and coffee.
- Grab a Bargain: Jumble sale in the curch hall.
- Great Company: A relaxed, welcoming space to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

Easter at The Good Shepherd. This Holy Week, our church family walk together through the story at the heart of our faith, from the quiet humility of the upper room to the joy of resurrection morning…
Maundy Thursday — 2 April
We began with a shared fish supper, a simple meal that set the tone for an evening of reflection and fellowship. Our Maundy Thursday service includes the traditional washing of feet and a moving time of communion, reminding us of Jesus’ call to love one another in practical, humble ways. Join us to eat at 5pm with the service starting at 7pm.
Good Friday — 3 April
On Good Friday afternoon, we will gather for An Hour Before the Cross. Through readings, silence, and prayer, we reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice and the depth of God’s love. It will be a quiet, meaningful time for everyone who comes. Join us at 2pm.
Easter Day — 5 April
Easter Sunday brings a joyful celebration as we come together for our 11am Communion service. With families, friends, and visitors, we will rejoyce in the good news of the resurrection, hope renewed, life restored, and light breaking into the world.
Easter reminds us that even in the darkest moments, God is at work bringing new life. As a church, we continue to hold onto that hope, for our community, our city, and our world. Whether you’ve been part of The Good Shepherd for years or you’re exploring faith for the first time, you are welcome here.
Looking Ahead
We’d love to see you at one of our regular Sunday services or at any of our upcoming events. There’s always space for you to worship, to ask questions, to find friendship, and to grow in faith.

On Sunday, 14th December, stay after the service for a light lunch together and some Christmas tree decorating fun. It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Add a little festive cheer to your Tuesday night! Join us at The Good Shepherd on Tuesday, 23rd December, between 4–6 pm, for a special visit from Santa Claus. Snap a photo, enjoy a small festive treat for just £1, and warm up with a hot drink or a slice of cake.

Join us at 11am on Sunday, 26th October to celebrate Harvest. We are having a food collection for our local Foodbank, so if you are able, please bring donations to church either on or before the 26th of October. After the service, stay and join us for a simple lunch together. All are welcome.

Building on the success of last year’s free community BBQ, we will be hosting another this year on 30th August. Join us for a burger or a sausage and a cuppa, browse our bric-a-brac and see if you can win big in our raffle 1 pm -3 pm.
